Confirm Inscription, then Prints, then Wither. The journal filters to a single type once three pieces are real. A copied tell does not replace a missing piece. This is the standard evidence set; reduced-evidence settings can hide clues. The order listed is not a mandatory collection order.

Behavior, identification, and counters

Vesper is blind and tracks by echo, including through walls. Standing still during a hunt keeps you off that echo unless you have already made a sound. The Fandom research snapshot reports kills inside closets during its own testing; this site did not perform that test. Standing still is community advice, not guaranteed immunity, and the current sources do not independently establish a patch-specific change. Inscription, prints, and wither are the evidence. Do not call every ghost that seems to know a hiding spot a Vesper. A footstep you made yourself is enough to break the stand-still.

Model versus type

The model determines appearance, not this evidence combination. Gender restrictions still matter: Siren and Keres use female models and Dullahan uses male models according to the current community guides. Do not use an incompatible example model as confirmation of the type.
